Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder perform at the funeral of Whitney Houston yesterday

It is a sad day yesterday in the music, when your friends, family and fellow artists will join together to bid farewell to the singer and actress Whitney Houston. This service has been branded a "home-going" ceremony, not a funeral, by those close to the 48-year star who died last Saturday - and it will be an emotional send from the people in the town of Whitney of New Jersey.

Invitations for the day Whit contains a picture of a smiling 'at the front with eyes closed.

The service itself will take place at New Hope Baptist Church, where Whitney used to sing as a child - and it thinks Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder will be performing at the ceremony, while Whitney's co-star Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard will give readings.

The service will begin at 12:00 Newark (coverage will begin around 4:00 pm here) and will be broadcast live on Sky News and online. Whitney estimated then to be buried beside his father, John, at Fair View Cemetery in Westfield. Sources say that Alicia Keys and R Kelly have also been invited to perform. While Jay-Z and Beyonce, Elton John, Oprah Winfrey, David Bowie, Clive Davis, Dionne Warwick and Bill Cosby will all be present as guests. And even Bobby Brown has been told he could be there to support the 18-year-old daughter's partner, Bobbi Kristina.

The outside of the Church is already covered in flowers and candles and many fans have arrived in the last week to pay their respects.

Sorry if there is the wrong word, I just reposted from another blog. Thank you.
