Why does it already feel like One Direction have been in America FOREVER? We can’t decide if we want them to be huge over there or keep them to ourselves. Not that we’re jealous. We might not have much choice though, as the boys already seem to be building a huge fan base on their tour of the states.
An insider says, “Columbia music execs are rubbing their hands with glee. It looks like One Direction are going to be absolutely massive in America.” The buzz was helped by an appearance on Nickolodeon’s iCarly, with Carly, played by Miranda Cosgrove, developing a crush on Harry Styles. Who can blame her?
The source has revealed to The Daily Star that Harrys’s starring role in the episode may in fact be part of a bigger push to make him a proper frontman for the band. According to the insider, boybands with a recognised lead singer are usually more successful and executives have decided that lead singer should be Harry.
“They decided long ago that Harry is a natural frontman. He’s funny, confident and has a great voice.” The rest of the band want to stick together though and a friend of Harry’s added, “They are determined to carry on the way they have been – without a lead singer. Harry certainly hasn’t asked for all this attention.”
The boys don’t seem too phased by the rumours though… we suppose you can only be so concerned when you’re getting mobbed by hoards of girls and sunbathing at your swanky hotel.
